Hi there, book folk.
Well, the silly season came and went and then some of us had some truly appalling weather to deal with…
But it would be nice to know where the books are. I’ve just had an email from Frankie, wondering when her little book will come home.
I know some of you are not regular bloggers, but , Sylvia aside, we all have email.
So, if you are not sure how to post information here, please get your little cyberscribes on the job, yes?
Thanks.

And just look at some of the treats!
Brigitte has picked up on my frogs!

Vivien’s given me the painted cliffs at Hunstanton. Can’t wait to see this up close and personal!

Anita’s done sunflowers. How did she know?

And Frankie has more flowers. The Duranta”Geisha Lady” I certainlyknow as I have several growing here. The other one? Hmm, I’ll have to wait til the books comes home to see it closely.

Carol and her amazing fish! It was one of these fishes that “introduced” me to Carol.

And here’s Kate’s colourful piece. It reminds me of some of the mandalas I’ve seen in India. But again, I’ll be able to inspect it better when it gets here.
Thankyou to all of you for being a part of this journey.
And thankyou, Alison, for sending the pics over to me.
Just a final note – Alison will hold the book til after the Christmas hoo-ha as our posties are having a bit of a tiff with their boss and have gone on strike! The mail rooms must resemble the Alps!

Hello, folks! I know some of you have been wondering where the books are and why we haven’t heard from some our fellows.
Well, it’s not for me to share personal details on the blog, but several of our group have been battling illness and injury.
But two books arrived at Brigitte’s place last week and I know she’s looking forward to adding to them. When? Oh, let’s see…in a week, I think. Brigitte had to go down to Brisbane, but expects to be back here at the end of this week.
I, meanwhile, have been beavering away in what we shamefully call the office. Far too much stuff cluttering the place and a desk sagging alarmingly under its load…so we bought a new desk, plus table and this…

became ….
…this!
Still not a dedicated atelier, but a vast improvement!

Just a quick note to say I’ve done my pages for Carol and Anita and the books should be with Vivien by the end of the week.
Well, allowing for the vagaries of the postal system…
I assumed, silly me, that our international mail left the country from Townsville, since that’s just “up the road” and is an international airport. But, no…apparently, it goes to Sydney and clears our shores from there. Can’t see what seems odd about this? Have a look at the map, folks. Sydney is TWO DAYS away by road carrier.
Oh, well, they’re on the way to Leicester. (Via Sydney.)
What’s that? You think I should show you what I did? No fair! It has to be “fresh” for Vivien.
It’s Happy Hour here. Goodbye!

As promised, here is some of the art that will soon be winging its way Vivien…
From Anita’s book…
Alison’s islands…

Brigitte’s abstract…

Carol’s fish…

Frankie’s cups…
Kate’s garden…

Sylvia’s island abstract

Anita’s theme is postcards and she asks that we send her some with the book. Well, Kate says there are no “nice” views available in her neck of the words so she’s printed a photo of a Cincinnati fountain. Good idea, kate…I may have to “borrow” that, especially as Alison got in first with Mackay views!
And Brigitte has sent an original, too, with an explanation .
I’ve scanned some of the pages for Carol’s book, but I’m hesitant to try to do all of them as they don’t sit flat on the scanner and Carol knows how I feel about “bending pages.”
Brizi’s crab…

Kate’s collage…

Sylvia’s patterns…

And that’s it for the moment, folks! It’s lunchtime here and, besides, the man-over-the-fence is bashing the dickens out of some iron.

Woohoo! The mail courier has just pulled into my driveway with a package from Sylvia.
I’ve had a sneak peek at the pages in Carol’s and Anita’s books. I might manage a scan of some later.
But right now? Well, I may be wearing one of those “I’m silly!” hats, but I’m washing the floor. Why silly? Another dust storm is forecast for tomorrow…
More later…

A shameless plug for my friend, Andrea, who is having a giveaway over at her small art site. Pop across and have a look.

This was posted in comments on Anita’s entry, but I’ve moved to here as it may not been seen down there

Hello fellow sketchbookers. I have recieved my second book and I am just so thrilled with the results from everybody. Dear Di thank you so much for this great idea and inviting me to participate. It has been great and I just love all the individual pieces of artwork from around the globe.
The talents of so many artists will be mine to enjoy into my old age and will help to keep the dream alive. I can honestly say that there isn’t a favourite piece as they are all so different with a great array of artistic skills and originality. Once again thank you everyone. Happy sketching for the future. Alison.

I apologise for my slowness in sending on the two books I have here. Having another of those mental blocks and fear of putting pencil to paper. Now that I’ve made this confession I know I will be spurred on by sheer guilt so something should be happening soon.

Poor Frankie has been confined to her cot, but is, she assures me, “wonderfully well again!” and is working on the Travelling Sketchbooks.
This arrived at my place the other day and I’ll be handing it over to Brigitte this morning.
For those who, perhaps, don’t know, Brigitte, Alison and I are all up to our oxters in exhibition stuff. (And stuffed is pretty much how we feel!)
But it’s all good and beats being couch potatoes watching TV re-runs, yes?
This is the little gem Frankie has given Ali. Maybe she should have sent it to Vivien’s Tree Challenge?

Now…some paperwork to deliver to the Gallery and then I think I’ll head to the pool.
Cheers, all!
